Welcome to Mrs. Brennan's Class Webpage!
I write this last webpage entry with a bittersweet feelings. Happy because another long and tiring school year has come to an end; sad because I can say with all honesty that I have to say goodbye to one of the best classes I have had so far as a teacher. After last summer's nervousness over leaving familiar stomping grounds and moving to a new school, I am grateful for the warm reception I received at Glen Dhu, and I thank each of the parents who showed their support over the year. I'd also like to take a moment to say something to each of the students (not really knowing how many of them actually read it, but here goes - in alphabetical order!): -Richard - thank you for being such a good sport - you brought a smile to my face every day! -Rafay - what a wonderful addition you were to the class. Thank you for always demonstrating such excellent manners. -Edward - thank you for demonstrating, day in and day out, a pleasant attitude and a consistently respectful manner. You are one in a million! -Nick B. - thank you for challenging me to be a better teacher every day! You always raise your game to perform at your best! -Harry - I appreciate all the help you were always willing to give, and how respectful you were to me, every day. Thank you! -Sam - you are a ray of sunshine! (What form of figurative language is that?!) You made each day brighter for me. Thank you for making me happy to come to school. -Jagger - thank you for demonstrating such an amazing work ethic! No matter how much was due, you always got it done. Continue with your efforts! -Violet: thank you for always having a pleasant and positive attitude. No matter what challenge was thrown your way, you accepted it with enthusiasm. -Kristyn: your quiet determination was an inspiration to me! Thank you for your perseverance and dedication to consistent excellence. -Shamar - thank you for all the help you provided in the classroom. Your efforts will not soon be forgotten! -Riley - thank you for challenging me to do my best every day. Your efforts inspired me, as your teacher, to do my best at all times. Keep striving for the top! -Kailey - thank you for having one of the cheeriest and positive demeanors of any student I've ever had! No matter the situation or challenge, you were always in a happy mood! -Rebecca - thank you for the insight and unique perspective you brought to nearly everything! I always enjoyed hearing what you had to say - you opened my eyes (and ears!) to a lot! -Nick H. - thank you for sharing your amazing gift as a writer with the class. If the skateboarding career goes off the rails (no pun intended), start putting your thoughts on paper! -Savannah - thank you for possessing and consistently displaying your calm demeanor! Your serenity was a blessing in our classroom! -Ryan K. - thank you for being so receptive to constructive criticism. You really worked hard at many different things and you should be proud of your efforts! -Annie - much like Savannah, your calmness was a welcome presence in the classroom. Thank you for your hard work and for never giving up (even though I know there were many things you weren't as fond of as others!) -Jordan - thank you for possessing a heart of gold and for always willing to help out anyone with anything. Your kindness if a gift and I hope you keep it for the rest of your life! -Alison - thank you for all the help you gave at all times. No matter what else you might have had going on, you were never too busy to lend a helping hand. Don't lose your curiousity! -Bailey - thank you for sharing your abilities with the class that you might not have shared in years prior. You have many skills in many areas; have the confidence to share them with others! -Ali - thank you for being so girly (and I mean that in a good way!). You showed all of us that you can balance a very hectic life and meet with great success academically! You are an amazing role model for young girls! -Nelson - thank you for your amazing sense of humour. Yes, your academic abilities will take you far, but it's your sense of humour that will allow you to balance out the stresses in life. I'm grateful you kept me in check! -Bryce - thank you for your enthusiasm. No matter what the situation or challenge, you were always eager to accept it and pursue success. -Caleb - thank you for always displaying your manners and being respectful. It is a rare thing in today's world; don't lose it! -Ryan S. - thank you for demonstrating perseverance. You were challenged, but met challenges head on and often met with success. -Conor - thank you for challenging me and motivating me to become a better teacher. You had many difficult challenges to face but approached them with a determined attitude. *I would like to congratulate the following students who achieved an 80% average in their grade 7 year. This is an amazing accomplishment and these students should be very proud of their efforts! -Richard Aitken -Riley Dyment -Rafay Ali -Alisha Poole
